Erin Christine MacLeod has experience in the fields of education, international development and the not-for-profit sectors. Holding a PhD in Communications from McGill and a Master’s in English Literature from the University of Toronto, Erin has taught and lectured at both the college and university levels and has worked in publishing, academia, journalism, public relations and social justice. In addition, she has been a CUSO International volunteer in Jamaica and a team leader working with Habitat for Humanity’s Global Village program in Ethiopia, Guyana, Kenya and Senegal. She has completed extensive fieldwork in Ethiopia and Jamaica, and her fields of interest are south-south relations, immigration policy, gender, diaspora studies and development issues. Erin’s research into these areas has been supported by both doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
